Bio

Caitlin is an experienced performer with a background in professional parade, stage and site-specific performances. She is skilled in various dance techniques and creative proficiencies including Contemporary, Choreography, Improvisation, Ballet and African Diaspora, with her main training coming from Ballroom and Latin dance, where she has competed regionally and nationally in the UK. Caitlin also has strong beliefs in engaging and collaborating with many diverse communities.

Caitlin initially began dancing at the age of two, learning Ballroom, Latin, Rock and Roll and Disco at her dance school in Trafford up until the age of seventeen, where from the age of eight, she started competing in Ballroom and Latin. Caitlin became successful on the competition circuit, placing in finals at National competitions and also becoming a British Junior Latin Vice Champion in 2019 at Blackpool Winter Gardens.

Caitlin first started her professional dance training at The Manchester College completing a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance), training in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Contemporary and Commercial. Whilst studying here, Caitlin performed alongside MM Jazz Company and Matrafisc Dance as well as being involved in Manchester Art Assembly, where various arts form collaborated to create a day of exhibitions and performances.

After developing a passion for Contemporary Dance at college, Caitlin then went on to continue her training at The University of Salford, studying a BA (Hons) Dance degree. Her time at university has allowed her to create new contacts and connections with various artists and companies across the North West including Ruth Jones, Joss Arnott Dance, Yue Ying Ho, Walk the Plank, Coalesce Dance Theatre, Company Carpi, Daisy Howell, Shona Roberts, Stepping Stones Creative and Move Manchester. In addition, Caitlin was able to explore her interests in outdoor performance work through performing in multiple parade performances, first as work placement and then as paid employment. These parades included St George's Day, Manchester Pride, Manchester Halloween Monster parade and Manchester Christmas parade.
